Asiacell Champions Entrepreneurship at Orange Corners Baghdad 6th Cohort Graduation Ceremony
Asiacell marked a significant presence at the recent graduation ceremony of the 6th cohort of Orange Corners Baghdad, held on June 5th. The ceremony, hosted by KAPITA and Orange Corners Baghdad, celebrated the achievements of 20 startup enterprises that completed a rigorous six-month incubation program.
This event, attracting high-level officials and distinguished individuals from across various sectors, also served as the platform to announce the winners of the second round of the Orange Corners Innovation Fund program grant. This grant, supported by the Netherlands government, awards each winning startup with an amount of 27,500 Euros, underlining the commitment to fuel entrepreneurial growth in Iraq. Representing Asiacell, a founding partner of the program, our Public Relations Manager, Barham Ghareeb, emphasized the commitment to nurturing entrepreneurial talents and fostering innovation in the region. They highlighted a notable success story of a startup from the first cohort, which, despite numerous challenges, managed to create a successful online marketplace for local artisans. This venture, empowered by mentorship and resources from Orange Corners and Asiacell, has elevated local craftsmanship to national and international levels, contributing positively to the economy while preserving cultural heritage.
